This engaging Acquaintance Rape, Drugs, and You (Teen Version) DVD explains to viewers that the “typical rapist” may not be who they think it is. It covers the issues of date rape as well as the role that alcohol and drugs can play in sexual assaults. Viewers learn how they can reduce their risk of being assaulted. When sex isn’t a mutual affair – it’s rape. This video uses interviews of counselors, survivors, and a detective to warn young people about this terrible violation.

Viewers learn that rape is not always a danger reserved for dark alleys and deserted streets, as they may believe. Sometimes it turns out to be committed by acquaintances or boyfriends. They also learn the role of different drugs (Rohypnol and GHB) that may be used in these sexual attacks. Young people, especially females, will learn to become aware of their surroundings. Also, how to protect themselves from violent sexual assaults so that they can protect themselves from becoming a victim of acquaintance rape.
