Street names include: Meth, Chalk, Glass, Tweak & Crank.
Meth is a dangerous, life destroying drug.
It’s usually created in clandestine labs using any number of potential deadly ingredients. Practicing unsafe manufacturing procedures. A person is never certain of what is in the drug or how it will affect them. Meth labs are often setup in populated areas. Making it toxic to the environment and prone to explosions and chemical fires.
Ingredients and potency of the drug vary from batch to batch. Which increases the risk that a user will experience life-threatening consequences. Users may also experience increased heart rate and elevated blood pressure, agitation, suicidal or violent thoughts, hallucinations and psychotic episodes, and heart attacks.
Addiction is a real danger and can have devastating consequences. Methamphetamine is extremely addictive. Meth also alters the brain chemistry. Eventually leading to an increased reliance on higher dopamine levels for them to feel “normal.” This creates a “Cycle of Addiction”.
