You never know what you’re taking. Synthetic drugs are being sold today as MDMA or Molly. The truth is, users never know what it is they are taking or what effect it will have on them. There have been many deaths where people thought they were getting MDMA but instead they actually took a much more dangerous drug.
MDMA has a lasting effect on a user’s brain, altering level of serotonin and dopamine. These changes in brain chemistry may be long lasting, affecting a user’s ability to sleep and leading to anxiety and depression. Users may also experience increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, agitation, suicidal and violent thoughts. Also, hallucinations, psychotic episodes, and heart attacks.
Users can also become psychologically dependent on the drug, leading to tolerance and withdrawal symptoms are a user stops taking MDMA.
MDMA use can lead to overdose and death. Effects of overdose include sweating, vomiting, loss of muscle control, delusional thought as well as cardiac arrest.
